Frequently Asked
After submitting an application we typically follow up within 3–5 business days. Once approved, we'll set up a meet-and-greet with your potential new family member. The entire process usually takes 1–2 weeks from application to adoption day!
All cats adopted from Michelle's MisFits are spayed or neutered, up to date on core vaccinations, microchipped, and have received a full wellness exam. We send them home with a starter supply of food and their medical records.
We do our best to help cats in need, but as a small foster-based rescue our capacity is limited. Please reach out using the contact form above and we'll do our best to assist or refer you to additional resources in the area.
First, check if the cat appears injured and contact a vet or emergency animal clinic if needed. If the cat seems healthy, try to contain them safely and reach out to us using the form above. Also check local lost pet groups on Facebook for the area where you found them.
Absolutely! Many of our best fosters have resident pets. We'll work with you to match a foster cat that fits well with your household. Having a separate room to isolate new arrivals during introductions is really helpful.
Yes! Michelle's MisFits is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. You'll receive an automatic tax receipt via email when you donate through our Zeffy donation page.
